Erik Schlie is the Vice President for Global Alumni and Talent & Careers at IE University and a member of IE’s management board. Erik’s key mission is to leverage the important “nurturing” pillars of Careers and Alumni across the entire IE world. He has been shaping IE in various roles for almost 12 years now, most notably as the previous Associate Dean of the International MBA (IMBA) Program at IE Business School for over 9 years. Erik has been a proven disruptor, change agent and educational innovator spearheading multiple re-designs of the top-ranked IMBA while simultaneously increasing student enrollments by 33% between 2014 and 2018.

 

Since 2009, Dr. Schlie has held a faculty appointment as Professor of Marketing and General Management at IE Business School. Previously, he was the first member of the founding faculty at ESMT Berlin and Senior Manager at PwC. Erik holds MPhil and PhD degrees from Cambridge University (Judge Business School) and an MBA from George Mason University in the Washington, D.C. area. His book SimplySeven, a navigational guide on creating a sustainable internet business, was published by Palgrave Macmillan in October 2011.
